Why I brought it back
Thirty years later, privacy still belongs to you.
In 1996, I created Encryption 1 for a fairly simple reason: I wanted people to be able to protect their own information.
At the time, that meant a Windows program that could encrypt basic text documents and select image formats. There was no cloud storage, no smartphone, no social media, and no expectation that nearly everything we did online would be collected, stored, analyzed, or tracked.
The technology has changed enormously since then, but the reason I built Encryption 1 hasn't.
